The Sherriff is Leaving Town

I started last June as the Ticket King Intern. I will be leaving on Monday, May 9th as my last day. I have finals the next week and will be promptly busy with those. I am starting a new chapter in my life, as I am an Executive Team Leader for Target Corporation. I will be moving to Mankato, Minnesota on June 1st. Everything has happened so fast and I’ve loved every minute of working here. It has been an absolute joy working here and I will definitely miss interning here. As they say, as one door closes, another opens. It’s not a goodbye. It’s a cya later.

The End of the Road

Well, this is it. I am graduating in 2 weeks. I have one week of class left and then finals. I walk on May 21st. Then thats the end of the road in terms of schooling. It’s been a good ride, it really has, ever since Kindergarten. It has been a tough semester so of course I’m looking forward to it being over. However, I know I will miss a bunch of things about school and that will come with time. It still hasn’t hit me that I am graduating from college. I will be a Double Major Graduate from St. Thomas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management and Communications.

Golf

I’ve always been a scratch golfer. Go out a few times in the summer, nothing more, nothing less. This summer is different. I want to actually be a “respectable” scratch golfer. I have a mean slice that I’m trying to correct and I’ve never known the mechanics on how to do that. I grew up golfing with my dad and simply put, he never taught me any fundamentals. It was just, swing hard and hit the ball hard, and if it goes far you did something right. Now, at age 22, I am finally trying to get the golf game down. I just bought a new pair of Golf shoes (Callaway), which are my first ever pair. I also just bought a right-handed glove since I am a lefty, my first ever glove.

Twins

I’m hoping that the Minnesota Twins rough start isn’t an indication of how the season will unfold. The Twins need to be the State’s saving grace, considering all of our other teams have flopped this season. The T’wolves, Wild, Vikings, Gopher Football, Gopher Basketball, and Gopher Hockey all failed to make the postseason. If the Twins were able to mount any sort of optimism, it would be great for the casual Minnesota sports fan. The bats need to get going if we want to have any shot to win the AL Central again.

Harrison Barnes Staying at UNC

The T’wolves have the best chance to win the lottery. We never have any “luck” in the lottery. Will this be the year that David Stern finally decides to be nice to us and give us a top pick? Maybe, considering how weak this draft class is. Harrison Barnes is staying at North Carolina. Perry Jones is staying at Baylor. That leaves just two standout players to me – Derrick Williams with Arizona and Kyrie Irving of Duke. Can we at least get a top 2 pick? The worst we can draft is 4 so let’s hope we can slide into the top 1 or 2.

Although I am a huge Gopher hockey fan, I gotta say I am pumped for the Duluth Bulldogs. They made it to the NCAA Championship tomorrow night against the hated Michigan Wolverines. When I say hated, I mean less hated, than at least the North Dakota Fighting Sioux who they knocked off 2-0. Duluth has been to 1 title game before and was defeated by Bowling Green. Could Duluth bring home 2 titles in 1 season (they won in Division II football)? Here’s to hoping, Go Dogs!

Opening Weekend

Target Field is back! The Minnesota Twins are embarking on another season at “The Bullseye”. I am attending the game tomorrow against the Oakland Athletics and I can’t wait! My prediction is that the Twins will win 92 games and win the AL Central. It is an exciting time of year and can’t wait to get out there and support the squad!
